Scotch whiskey is the most consumed alcoholic beverages of all time. It has been in existence for about 100 years Scotland is known as the origin of whiskey, and it may have been introduced to the country by Christian monks. The production, distillation, and development started as early as 1600. Scotch whisky was discovered in Scotland by Flair John Cor.Due to the taxation introduced on Scottish whiskey in 1964 it leads to the emergence of companies that sold Scottish whiskey illegally. The Scotland parliament in 1973 came up a law that enabled individuals to put up licensed distilleries easily and this had an effect of reducing the illegal distillers. Today fine scotch has been technologically advanced to become a popular drink.
New Scottish and Irish immigrants settled in American lands and came up with new distilling technologies. for the whiskey to carry the name scotch it must be distilled and matured in the parent home Scotland. Since there is lack of smoke in the drying process of grain or corn thus the American whiskey is stronger, fuller, the sweeter.
There are six different brews of American whiskey. It is believed that the origin of bourbon is Kentucky. Stipulations of bourbon is that it should be made of fifty-one percent corn and should be stored in charred oak barrels for a term not shorter than two years. Eight percent alcohol by volume is the biggest percentage of the spirit in bourbon. There is a need to know that bourbon is produced in many different states. Tennessee is closely related to bourbon. However, their biggest difference is that Tennessee must be filtered through sugar maple charcoal and can only be distilled in Tennessee. Jack Daniels and George Dickel are the only known types of this whiskey. Other types of whisky are created by blending Rye and wheat whisky. For Rye to be bottled it must be fifty-one percent rye thus not many are bottled. It is slightly bitter and has a more powerful taste and is distilled in the states of Indiana and Kentucky. Unlike bourbon the con must contain eighty percent con. Con has to be aged in uncharred barrels if it is to be stored in wood, In the industrial market Blended American whisky is mass produced and contains twenty percent Rye and bourbon. The industrial spirit making eight percent thus this whisky Is cheap and easy to produce. American whiskey can be served in weddings or in social drinks in pubs and restaurants while the drink can also be issued out to employees and executives as a corporate gift thus the drink is elegant and delightful.
